Merona Foundation is a UK based charity that helps young people, the poor and operates in Ghana supporting disadvantaged, orphaned and street children, primarily but not exclusively those living in rural towns. The charity supports disadvantaged children financially to pay for education costs, improvements to unhabitable buildings. We donate books, clothing, footwear, educational equipment and maintain regular contact to ensure the needs are aided.
We provide support to the work of the foundation and collaborate on principled initiatives for the benefit of improving the lives of those in need. We engage in fundraising, welfare and mentoring to help the purpose of our vision.
Helping families and the disadvantaged going through difficulty in the community – UK
The foundation works with young people educating them about social welfare activities, including children living in rural and urban facing severe hardship to improve their access to quality education, specifically with a focus on marginalised groups including girls, orphans, and street children.
Children received school bags packed with books, pens, pencils, and other learning aid to motivate and enable them to stay in school.
Young people who were on the verge of dropping out of school because of basic essentials such as uniform, receives support to help them stay in school. A child is sent home because they did not have a uniform or learning aid.
Over 200 children engage in weekly Book club activities that helps them focus on their reading.
