Oral Care Education

Merona Foundation and Vivian Frimpong (Founder, Oral Africa Care) embarked on a journey to Ghana to provide Oral Care Education and Awareness to the children in Africa. Such as diet intake and how to reduce sugar – as most of the children don’t have the benefits to go to the dentists or even have the knowledge of oral care. They educated children in the deprived communities; including orphanges and schools on the importance of oral hygiene and welfare. The pupils were taken through different; effective techniques and maintenance of oral care.

Oral care kit such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and leaflets were supplied so that the children and young people can have knowledge of using soft toothbrushes to start their oral hygiene programme.

It is vital for children and young people to learn about oral hygiene and how to maintain one’s hygiene particularly for those in the disadvantaged communities who do not have access to this basic knowledge.

Additionally, due to the lack of basic essentials to education, Merona Foundation has offered the young people opportunities to reach their full potential to be useful to themselves and society. The island communities who benefitted from this programme; Aflive, Alorkpem in the Ada district., Volta including Hearts of the Father.
